12 Son-daughter from various regions of Indonesia to strengthen the team traveled to Moscow Russia today, to fight at the International Conference of Young Scientists (ICYS).
ICYS is the world's annual competition for young researchers in the education level of junior / senior high school. This event is usually attended by participants from Europe, America, and Asia.
"They left this afternoon from Soekarno-Hatta, after undergoing maturation during four days in Jakarta," said Rolan Mauludy Dahlan, one of the team coach ICYS, to VIVAnews, Friday, April 22, 2011.
12 young researchers that include Lutfi Mu'awan (SMAN 1 Purwarejo), Christa, Christy Hong (SMA St. Laurensia Tangerang), Ridho Arief Kusuma (SMAN 1 Samarinda), range of mountains Albryansyah (SMPN 1 Bontang), Michael Sunarto, Fialdy (Kusuma Chandra junior Medan), Luh Dharayanti Lakshmi Knight (SMAN 1 Singaraja), Reza Abdurahman (SMA Taruna Nusantara), Ninda (SMA Yogyakarta), Jessica Lo (SMAK Cita Heart Surabaya).
They will compete in four areas of study, namely the field of Physics, Computer Science, Ecology, and Mathematics.
Jessica Lo, for example, will present his research on the optimization of biodegradable Plastics from banana leaves. While the range of mountains Alryansyah will menggadang study computer operating system named MandauOS.
Ridho Arief Kusuma will present the laws of physics in fractal dimension. While Reza Abdurahman with his research on computational reconstruction of Borobudur temple architecture.
The team was dispatched by the Solar Institute, an institution established by Yohanes Surya. "The target this time the same teams as before, namely the overall championship," said Rolan.
Indonesia's team has dominated this event in 2009 and 2010. Since the last two years Indonesia has become the overall champion team when the event was held in Pszczyna Poland and in Bali last year. (umi)
